Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) co-owner and Bollywood diva Preity Zinta would be present at the IPL auctions scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on 28th and 29th of January in 2018.
But ahead of the IPL auction, the actress came up in the news when rumours started doing the rounds that she changed her name from Preetam Singh Zinta to Preity Zinta.
Preity, who is seen supporting her team KXIP during every season of the IPL took to her Twitter handle to clear the air over changing her name.
On Tuesday, taking to the micro-blogging site, Preity slammed the fake news doing the rounds that she changed her name to enter the film industry. In a series of tweets, the actress wrote, “Media has been reporting that my name was Preetam Singh Zinta & I changed it to Preity Zinta for Movies – ITS NOT TRUE. #Fakenews #Bachaao.”
Then she went on explain how the name Preetam cropped up in the first place, “During Soldier’s shoot @thedeol named me Pritam cuz “I was one of the boys.”The movie became a hit & so did the name … Grrrrrr #Samjhe.”

Finally, when a Twitterati told Preity that this information was on her Wikipedia page since long, the bubbly actress concluded by saying, “Don’t believe everything on the net or Wikipedia or anywhere else. Any one can say anything so for the last time my name was & is Preity.”
