On the first day of the ongoing second Test between South Africa and India in Centurion, during the first session of play the home team dominated but for the last two sessions the credited should be given to India’s spin king Ravichandran Ashwin whose tremendous effort and execution helped the visitors to reduce South Africa at 269 for 6 from 199/3 at the stumps.
Ashwin returned with the figures of 3/90 at the end of first day’s play and his prized possessions were Dean Elgar (31), Aiden Markram (94) and Quinton De Cock (0).
Surprisingly, the feisty South Africa wicket-keeper batsman De Kock failed to soak in the pressure and got out on the very first ball he faced. Without much movement, De Kock tried to drive a faster delivery from Ashwin which took a fat outside edge to first slip. And Virat Kohli couldn’t have got a better catch than this! He made sure De Kock walks back without disturbing the scoreboard.
Kohli was pumped up after completing the catch and performed the ‘dab’ along with teammate KL Rahul.
