India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara, who many recognize as the modern-day Rahul Dravid for his ability to bat through almost any situation, took his career-best 54 balls to open his account on Day 1 of third Test against South Africa in Johannesburg.
After having endured that burst from the Proteas pacers, Pujara finally got off the mark on the 54th ball of his innings. When the Saurashtra cricketer did so, he could not hold back his emotions and was seen donning a wry smile on his lips.
Even his teammates sitting in the pavilion could not stop themselves from applauding, as many of them were seen laughing. Also, commentating from the box, Sunil Gavaskar got excited when Pujara flicked Lungi Ngidi to score his first run.
