Right-handed batsmen Rohit Sharma is not in the greatest of his form on the current India tour of South Africa.
Rohit, who is the only batsman in the world to score three double centuries in ODIs, in reply to South Africa’s low total of 119 to win in the second ODI at Centurion, scored just 15 runs.
He has not touched up to 50 run figure in four innings of two Tests and two one-day matches at one time so far. The Mumbaikar could add only 78 runs in the four innings of the Test series- 11, 10, 10 and 47 respectively.
In the first ODI of the series played in Durban, Rohit made 20 runs off 30 balls. He then flopped in the Centurion ODI; scored 15 runs off 17 balls with the help of two fours and a six. He was dismissed by the Proteas pacer Kagiso Rabada once again.
Rohit’s poor run of form gave Indian businessman Harsh Goenka a very good chance to troll him. Goenka, through his tweet, quipped that Rohit is much like Mahatma Gandhi. Both of them did all their practice in South Africa but performed or had their actions unroll in India. This was a subtle dig calling Rohit a home track bully.
