Twitterati mercilessly trolls Rohit Sharma for scoring a duck in 1st T20I of Nidahas Trophy 2018

Things might be thin for India’s limited overs opener Rohit Sharma as his bad form with the bat continues. In the first match of Nidahas Trophy, against Sri Lanka, the Mumbai lad fell for a duck.

In South Africa, known as ‘Hitman’ had gone to the record book for having most ducks in the T20 Internationals. Rohit just bettered the record on Tuesday as now he has 5 ducks to his name, most by any Indian. The next in line is the retired Indian pacer Ashish Nehra with three ducks in his T20I career.

At R. Premadasa stadium in Colombo, after put in to bat first by Sri Lanka, on the 4th ball that he faced, Rohit tried to get fancy. It was a sensational catch by Jeevan Mendis who run awkwardly back from mid-off to take down the catch of Rohit’s mishit. Mendis landed on his back but hanged onto the ball. It was a fuller and outside off delivery, in Rohit’s swinging arc. He tried to strike it over the man inside the circle but ended up skewing it off the bottom part.

Also, it seems as if Twitterati were waiting to explode as Rohit Sharma tweets clogged the entire social media platform. With his dismissal in the very first over, the 30-year old ‘talented’ cricketer went trending within minutes.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to Rohit Sharma’s dismissal:
