Alyssa Healy scores first international century, husband Mitchell Starc posts a special tweet for the little legend

Australia’s women wicketkeeper batter Alyssa Healy smashed her maiden international century in the third and final one-day international against India in Vadodara on Sunday.

In a knock that took eight years in the making, Healy struggled to find her feet early but later smashed the Indian bowlers all over the park. The Aussie opener found her groove in the eighth over of the first innings with two boundaries and a six, bringing up her half-century from 47 deliveries.

Healy survived twice, on 27 and again on 58 – both times on the boundary and both times by Mona Meshram. She capitalised playing some fabulous shots as the 27-year-old first passed her previous highest ODI score, 71, and her highest international score, 90, before reaching maiden ton off 94 deliveries.

Healy was eventually dismissed for 133, with her 115-ball knock featuring 17 boundaries and two sixes.

The century came in Healy’s 58th ODI for Australia and her husband Mitchell Starc was all over the moon watching his wife’s majestic hundred.

Starc, who plays for Australia in men’s cricket, took to Twitter to applaud Healy’s brilliant knock.

“How bloody good!!! 💯 in the green and gold 👏🏽👏🏽 @ahealy77 you little legend! #proudhubby,” Starc tweeted.
