Delhi Daredevils (DD) have announced the replacement of Kagiso Rabada for the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
It was a severe blow for the Daredevils after the South African pacer was ruled out of the IPL due to a lower-back stress reaction. Reportedly, he has been sidelined for up to 3 months.
The 22-year old had complained of discomfort during the fourth and final Test in Johannesburg, bowling only eight overs in Australia’s second innings.
However, Daredevils have roped in the services of Liam Plunkett as his replacement for this season.
Here's announcing @Liam628 as our replacement for @KagisoRabada25 for the VIVO @IPL 2018. We're stoked to have him with us!
Welcome to Dilli, Liam! 😀#DilDilli #Dhadkega

This will be the “first stint” in the IPL for the 33-year-old Plunkett, the Daredevils said, while announcing the signing. The Yorkshire bowler was picked from a pool of available replacements. He has played in 13 Tests, 65 one-day internationals and 15 T20 internationals for England.
Delhi Daredevils open their IPL 2018 campaign with a game against the Kings XI Punjab in Mohali on April 8.
