Mumbai Indians managed to secure their first win of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) as they moved up to the 6th spot in the points table. They defeated Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB) by 46 runs.
Chasing a mammoth target of 214, Virat Kohli’s heroics could not save the day for RCB as no other batsman came to his aide. Krunal Pandya scalped three wickets for Mumbai Indians. MI skipper Rohit Sharma scored 94 runs to help MI post a total of 213. This is the maiden win for MI in IPL 2018 after three losses.
After put in to bat first, MI was reduced to 0-2 in the first over, then they had a remarkable recovery. Evin Lewis and Rohit first built the innings and then lead the onslaught to take the team’s score to 213-6 in 20 overs. RCB bowlers failed to capitalize on the launch pad provided by Umesh Yadav.
Here is how the fans reacted to MI’s win:
RCB simply having no answers today. Fighting innings from Kohli the only saving grace. Clinical performance from @mipaltan . Rohit in the form he was in is a warning bell for all teams. #MIvRCB
