In a very crucial encounter, Dinesh Karthik put in Mumbai Indians to bat first and the Rohit Sharma led side got to a good start but lost the openers in quick succession.
After Suryakumar Yadav’s wicket, in came Ishan Kishan who scored a 21-ball 62 and built a partnership of 82 runs from just 34 balls with the skipper.
After Kishan got out, Rohit and Hardik Pandya followed the suit trying to up the ante.
Ben Cutting and Krunal Pandya gave the perfect end to the innings as they scored 24 off 9 balls and 8 off 2 balls respectively. With the final flourish, MI ended with a score of 210/6 in 20 overs.
Chasing a mighty target of 211, Kolkata Knight Riders lost Sunil Narine of the second ball of the innings.
From there on, KKR did not recover at all as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. The biggest partnership in KKR’s innings was of 28 runs for the second wicket describes how bad a situation KKR were in.
In the end, KKR were bowled out for 108 and MI have won the match by 102 runs and now climb to the fourth position on the points table.
Here are the Twitter reactions to MI’s win over KKR:
Sports is about the spirit & wins/losses don’t reflect that. But tonite as the ‘Boss’ I need to apologise to the fans for the lack of spirit

Mumbai Indians doing what they do best, turning it around in style. From being number 8 to being in the top 4, this is a remarkable effort from @mipaltan .Just the consistency to do this is amazing. KKR were clueless against Mumbai's intensity. #KKRvMI

There's a term that's often being used in IPL over the years – 'Peaking at the right time.' The determined @mipaltan have once again demonstrated how it's done. Unpredictable turn of events for them. Talking of Cricket, Wore these specially designed cufflings for today 😉 #KKRvMI pic.twitter.com/A2ph3J9dTi

Before this match, KKR had played MI 22 times in the IPL — and lost 17 times. Suggests mental hurdle tho why it should be so is not known
