Hitting a six and finishing the game has become an Indian thing now!
Making her Kia Super League (KSL) debut, India’s T20I skipper Harmanpreet Kaur smashed a four and a six in the final over to seal a thrilling match for Lancashire Thunder against Surrey Stars on Tuesday.
Thunder chasing 148 against Surrey Stars won the match by five wickets with a ball to spare. Harmanpreet remained unbeaten on 34 off just 21 balls. Her knock of around half an hour included a six and three fours.
Thunder’s opener Nicole Bolton top-scored for them with 87 runs off 61 balls including 13 fours.
In front of 2,257 spectators at the Kennington Oval, London, Surrey were favourites when the last over began where Thunder needed 11 runs.
Thunder lost a wicket when they needed eight runs off the final three balls and that brought Harmanpreet on strike. She took everyone by storm with those two strikes and ensured her Super League debut would be talked about for a while.
