A rejuvenated Virat Kohli led India beat England by 203 runs in the third Test at Trent Bridge on Wednesday to stay alive in the five-match series, courtesy a sensational five-wicket haul from Jasprit Bumrah in his comeback game on day four.
Nine wickets down with 311 on the board, England resumed on the final day morning and lasted 17 balls. Ravichandran Ashwin took the last wicket, bringing to end a dogged 11 from James Anderson.
Ashwin, who didn’t look 100% fit in this game, didn’t disappoint his skipper and turned one big from wide of the crease to take the edge of the left-hander as Ajinkya Rahane managed to pouch it to confirm that there was no more drama in the game.
England were eventually bowled out for 317 runs and India stunningly came back in the series with a thumping win.
