It was debutant Hanuma Vihari who broke a 259-run long partnership between England skipper Joe Root (125) and Alastair Cook (147) to finally bring a sense of respite for India after they were made to do some leather chasing on Day 5 of the fifth Test match at the Oval.
When Root attempted a slog sweep off Vihari, he was picked out by Hardik Pandya in the deep, who came in as a substitute fielder for injured Ishant Sharma.
On the very next ball, Vihari dismissed Cook, who was playing his last innings in International cricket. The left-hander looked to cut the ball that was a tad bit closer to his body only to find an edge of the bat and Rishabh Pant made no mistake behind the stumps.
