WATCH: Ravindra Jadeja’s brilliant presence of mind to run-out Mohammad Mithun

Ravindra Jadeja has always been known for his all-round performances and this time, he notched it up a bit with a brilliant piece of fielding to dismiss Bangladesh middle-order batsman Mohammad Mithun during the final match of the Asia Cup 2018 in Dubai.

It was the 28th over of first innings when India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a flighted ball outside off stump to which centurion Liton Das easily drove towards cover with a solid punch. For a moment, it looked like that ball was traveling too fast to stay inside the ring, but Jadeja has other ideas. The all-rounder intercepted the ball with a full-length dive to his left.

After saving the ball, Jadeja had a very little time to decide in which direction he wanted to throw the ball. Both the batsmen were at the striker’s end. Jadeja’s body almost had the momentum to throw it towards the non-striker’s end but he immediately controlled himself and understanding there was no one on the side of Chahal, he threw it to the bowler, who whipped off the bails to run-out Mithun.
