All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scored his maiden Test century on Friday as India posted a mammoth total of 649 in the first innings of the opening Test against Windies in Rajkot.
Playing in front of his home crowd at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Jadeja remained not out on 100 before India skipper Virat Kohli declared the innings. Jadeja reached the three-figure mark off 132 deliveries. His innings include five fours and five sixes.
Speaking at a press conference after end of second day’s play, Jadeja said that he is very happy and would like to dedicate this knock to his mother because she always wanted him to play for India. He added that although she is no longer alive but there is nothing more valuable than this knock that he could have gifted his mother.

Meanwhile, it has been a good one last month for Jadeja. He played a fine knock of unbeaten 86 in the final and fifth Test match against England at the Oval to keep India in the hunt. Subsequently, he scalped four wickets on his ODI comeback during the Super Four match against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2018.
