A clinical India completed one of the most ruthless whitewash in recent times, demolishing a listless Windies by 10 wickets in the second Test, inside three days, to clinch the series 2-0.
Umesh Yadav’s maiden 10-wicket haul (6/88 and 4/45) on a decent track was the highlight as India reached the meagre victory target of 72 in 16.1 overs, courtesy unbeaten partnership between openers Prithvi Shaw (33) and KL Rahul (33).
The visitors were back to their worst despite showing signs of fight in the first innings as they couldn’t last two full sessions on Day 3 and were bowled out for 127 in only 46.1 in their second innings.
Here’s how Twitter reacted:
Clinical performance by #TeamIndia to win this Test Series. Congratulations @y_umesh on another fine effort in the 2nd innings to bag your 10 wicket haul. #INDvsWI pic.twitter.com/WmQWHt5pHn

Extremely top effort from Umesh Yadav to take a ten-fer in a test at home. The fact that among fast bowlers only the greats Kapil Dev and Srinath have done it at home shows how rare a feat this is #INDvWI

Special effort that by @y_umesh for his maiden ten wicket haul. Not that easy in India for a fast bowler. Well done 👍 #Ninja

Top quality effort @y_umesh -To get 10 wickets in a match on a pitch which hardly had anything to offer for fast bowling is very special. Keep the rhythm going fella!

Another crushing win for India. To start favourites is one thing, to treat the opposition like that quite another. Delighted for Umesh Yadav.

Prithvi Shaw (18 years and 339 days) is second youngest in Test history to hit the winning runs. Youngest: Pat Cummins (18 years and 197 days) vs South Africa, Johannesburg, 2011. #IndvWI

Tremendous series win for India
Highlights for me:
-Emergence of youngsters-Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant
-Umesh Yadav’s performance in Hyderabad
-Ajinkya Rahane finding form
-Jadeja’s ton in Rajkot. Will be interesting who gets picked in XI in Aus—Jadeja, Ashwin or Kuldeep#INDvWI— Sarang Bhalerao (@bhaleraosarang) October 14, 2018
Dominant performance from India. This is their 10th consecutive Test series win. They join the Australian team who have claimed that honour twice. Would be surprised if they don’t win their 11th at home on the trot #INDvWI
