IPL 2019 auction: List of players with highest base price

IPL 2019 might still be far away, but the players’ auction is slowly closing in. The franchises are gearing up to get their composition right ahead of the big day in Jaipur on December 18.

As many as 1003 players have registered for the one-day affair, with only 70 slots available amongst the eight teams.

Meanwhile, as per an email sent to the franchises on Monday, which ESPNcricinfo has accessed, the list of marquee players (cricketers with highest base price i.e. INR 2 crore) have been released.

England all-rounder Sam Curran, who has grabbed the attention of cricket experts and fans through his recent performances, is one of the top names in the list.

Brendon McCullum, the former New Zealand skipper, who was earlier released by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is another player up for grabs in the marquee list. Age might be catching up with the Black Cap, but he still has plenty left in the tank.

Lasith Malinga, who was one of the members in the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) coaching staff last year would take part in the auction as well. Australia’s Shaun Marsh, who made a name for himself by playing the IPL itself, would feature in this season’s auction too.

Here’s the complete list of players with 2 crore base price in the IPL 2019 auction:

  1. Sam Curran
  2. Colin Ingram
  3. Corey Anderson
  4. Shaun Marsh
  5. Lasith Malinga
  6. D’Arcy Short
  7. Brendon McCullum
  8. Chris Woakes
  9. Angelo Matthews
