Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant got one back at Tim Paine for the banter he was subjected to while he was batting as the Australian skipper came to the crease to bat on Day 4 of the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday.
After asking Murali Vijay about his liking towards Indian captain Virat Kohli, Paine was in Pant’s ears on Day 3 of the third Test in the second innings calling him a ‘babysitter’.
Rishabh Pant gives it back
Pant welcomed Paine to the crease with some banter of his own, calling him a “temporary captain”.
“We’ve got a special guest today…..have you heard of a temporary captain ever?”, Pant was heard asking Mayank Agarwal, who was fielding at silly point.
Pant further told Ravindra Jadeja, who was on the attack, that he does not need anything special to get Paine’s wicket as he can only talk.
“You don’t need anything to get him out boys. He loves to talk, that’s the only thing he can do, only talking-talking,” Pant was heard as saying on the stump mic.
