Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting’s misjudged attempt to grab a regulation catch in the Big Bash (BBL|08) on Thursday left him with a bloody face.
The incident happened in the group stage fixture between the Melbourne Renegades and the Brisbane Heat, who Cutting plays for.
Defending a target of 145, the Heat were in the field when Renegades opener Marcus Harris top-edged a delivery from James Pattinson.
The ball went high into the sky as Cutting positioned himself to take the catch.
Unfortunately for him, the ball went straight through has hands and smashed into his nose, leaving him blooded and on the field.

To his credit, Cutting was up with a smile on his face, but he was still forced to leave the field for treatment.
The all-rounder, however, returned to the field after receiving five stitches and later passing the concussion test.
