India’s opening batsman Rohit Sharma scored his 22nd ODI hundred during the first game of the three-mach series against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Rohit equalled former India captain Sourav Ganguly’s record of 22 centuries in ODI cricket and is now currently tied with him in the third spot for most hundreds by Indians in the 50-over format. Only Sachin Tendulkar (49) and Virat Kohli (38) have more ODI tons than ‘Hitman’.

Rohit’s tally of 133 runs in the series opener included six sixes as he cleared the Sydney Cricket Ground with ease.
His tally increased his number of sixes hit against Australia to 64, which is the most by any batsmen against a single opposition.
Rohit broke the previous world record held by former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi, who blasted 63 sixes in ODIs against Sri Lanka. While Afridi took 72 games to hit 63 sixes, Rohit has achieved the feat in a staggering 29 games.
Rohit has also hit a total of 27 sixes in Australia, which is the most in a single country. Even here, he broke the previous record of 25 held by Afridi.
It's still well and truly game on with Rohit out in the middle…
