VIDEO: When AB de Villiers smashed the fastest 150 in ODI history

Former South African skipper AB de Villiers, who is also popularly known as Mr 360° for his ability to score runs all over the ground, created history after hitting an unbeaten 162 off just 66 balls against West Indies in a Pool B match of ICC World Cup 2015 at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on 27th February 2015.

The right-handed de Villiers exhibited his standard innovative batting shots and reached to his century in no time; which came of just 52 balls. But he missed out the fastest World Cup ton by 2 balls.

De Villiers continued to hammer the Windies bowling unit and returned to the pavilion undefeated. The record of fastest hundred in World Cup belongs to Irish all-rounder Kevin O’Brien, who hit a 50-ball 100 against England in the 2011 edition of the tournament.

ABD, however, set a new record in ODI history, scoring 150 off just 64 balls. He holds the records of fastest 50 (16 balls), 100 (31) and 150 (64) in the 50-over international cricket.
