Usman Khawaja, Adam Zampa guide Australia to 3-2 series win over India

Usman Khawaja smashed his second century in three matches as Australia thrashed India by 35 runs in their firth and final ODI to seal a come-from-behind 3-2 series victory.

The Men in Blue were bowled out on 237 in the series decider at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium on Wednesday.

Opener Khawaja strengthened his claim for a place in the Australian squad for upcoming World Cup with an elegant hundred to steer Australia to 272 for 9.

Adam Zampa (3-46) and his fellow bowlers then skittled India for 237 in exactly 50 overs to register their third successive win in the five-match series as Australia overcame a 0-2 deficit.

Notably, it is the first ODI series win for Australia since January 2017 and the fourth on Indian soil, the last coming in 2009. It was India’s first loss in an ODI series at home since 2015 when they lost 3-2 to South Africa.
