The defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has been the most successful team in IPL. They secured the tournament thrice, in the year 2010, 2011 & 2018. From 2008 to 2018, the team played 150 IPL matches and won 91 out of them, a success rate of 61.07% (best among all teams).
In the first match of the season, Chennai Super Kings will play against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 23rd March 2019 in Chennai.
In terms of batting Suresh Raina has been the most successful batsman in IPL scoring 4985 runs in 172 innings. He is just 15 runs short of his record of 5000 runs in IPL. Other key players include Shane Watson, Bravo, Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav and Ravindra Jadeja.
The franchise also bagged fast bowler Mohit Sharma for INR 5 crore this season. He will join Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, and Lungi Ngidi to lead the pace attack.

Harsha picked South African batsman Faf du Plessis along with Australian all-rounder Shane Watson for the opening pair. Spinner Imran Tahir and Harbhajan Singh couldn’t make to the list.
