Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won their second consecutive match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 season to take the top position in the points table.
The MS Dhoni-led side beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 6 wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.
Batting first, Shikhar Dhawan held the innings together for Delhi with a laboured 51, but the final five overs proved to be the difference between the sides in the end.
CSK star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who has now been entrusted with the death overs, was at his best and his 3-wicket haul sucked out all the momentum as DC crawled to only 39 runs in last six overs.
Chasing 147, the Super Kings opener Shane Watson took the game away from Delhi by smashing 44 runs off just 26 deliveries. Suresh Raina was aggressive against the spinners, and his innings of 30 in 16 balls never allowed the hosts to have any say in the chase.
However, the crowd was at its vociferous best when MS Dhoni walked out, and the skipper took his time to get going, but then sealed the chase with a calm finish along with Kedar Jadhav and Bravo.
