Windies pacer Alzarri Joseph completed the best bowling figures in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history on his debut.
22-year-old Joseph took six wickets for 12 runs in 3.4 overs to lead Mumbai Indians (MI) to a 40-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday.
He bowled SRH opener David Warner in his first delivery before going on to break Sohail Tanvir’s previous record of 6/14.

“It’s a dream start, can’t get better than this,” said Joseph after the match.
“I just wanted to bowl to the plans,” added Joseph. “When they said I was playing, I decided to keep it simple and back myself.”
Joseph was roped in by the Mumbai franchise after New Zealand’s Adam Milne pulled out of the ongoing competition because of a heel injury. The Windies seamer was in the playing XI in place of absent Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga.
