Shreyas Iyer’s Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 4 wickets at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday.
This is the sixth straight loss for RCB now and if they want to keep their hopes alive for the playoffs from here on, they have to win at least 7 out their remaining eight matches.
Earlier, Kohli played an uncharacteristic sedate knock as the visitors restricted the hosts to 149 for eighth. Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers for Delhi. He claimed four wickets and gave away just 21 runs in his quota of four overs.
Here’s how Twitter reacted:
In an ideal world there must be a bilateral series between Lahore Qalandars and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Just to see who is more bad.

Really feel for Virat Kohli. Really feel sorry with the way RCB has played. Have never seen him so low. I hope @RCBTweets pull their socks up and give this great man a few wins #RCBvDC

RCB on the verge of being totally marginalised in the IPL. Never had such a poor start any season. Virat Kohli has a task on hand.

If India are smart they rest @imVkohli now for the World Cup … Give him some time off before the big event … #IPL2019

What a spell from the bowlers… last night it was #AlzarriJoseph and today it is #KagisoRabada… why should batsmen have all the fun! 😉#RCBvDC #VIVOIPL #GameBanyegaName

Wondering why @RCBTweets are even playing. No character from anyone. This is shambolic. Please quit and give my captain the rest he needs. #RCBvDC #IPL2019

RCB must seriously consider playing a practice game between two teams amongst themselves. This way RCB can win and the fans can see them win as well. Am not kidding, they need to definitely do something like this to thrill the sellout crowd who turn up every game. #RCBvDC

Imagine a scenario where Sachin Tendulkar & Brian Lara were in the same team during the 1990s & yet it would be the worst team of its time… RCB fits the bill completely! A team consisting of Kohli & ABD been perennially abysmal. #RCBvDC #IPL2019
