IPL 2019 – WATCH: Ravindra Jadeja and Ben Stokes lose footing, ball goes for a six (RR vs CSK)

The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in a sensational finish to their IPL 2019 fixture against the Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday.

The win involved many dramatic moments – MS Dhoni uncharacteristically lost his cool, Mitchell Santner hit the final ball for a six, but the drama unfolded with the first ball of Ben Stokes’ final over of the match.

The England all-rounder bowled a wide fuller-length delivery to Ravindra Jadeja who slipped in the process of getting under it. Funnily enough Stokes also lost his footing at the other end. Both the players watched the ball going high into the air but it carried on its momentum and landed way outside the boundary rope.

Stokes grimaced, while non-striker Dhoni walked to his partner, chuckling, to give a friendly tap on his helmet with the bat.

Though Stokes clean bowled Dhoni off the third ball of the over, Mitchell Santner’s last-ball six sealed the match for CSK by four-wickets.
