There was uncertainty over MS Dhoni’s participation in Match 50 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Chepauk with the wicketkeeper-batsman suffering from fever.
But the 37-year-old not only returned to lead his side in the battle for the top spot but also played a sensational knock of 44 off just 22 deliveries. His innings was laced with four boundaries and three maximums. But one shot of him stood out.
In the penultimate over of CSK innings, Chris Morris unintentionally delivered a nasty beamer at Dhoni. But the India veteran, who was at his best on Wednesday, connected it well and the ball went for a six over fine leg.
Morris straight-away apologised to the CSK skipper. Fans and experts too loved the all-rounder’s gesture which was in the spirit of the game.

Meanwhile, CSK reclaimed the top spot in the IPL 2019 points table after defeating DC by 80 runs. Also, this was Delhi’s biggest margin of defeat for the season.
