IPL 2019: Sachin Tendulkar hails Mumbai Indians’ victory over Chennai Super Kings in the first Qualifier

Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has hailed Mumbai Indians’ crucial victory over the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, in the first Qualifier of IPL 2019. Now, Rohit Sharma & Co. is just win away of becoming the first team to win four IPL titles.

Taking to Twitter, Tendulkar, who was at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday night, has praised the bowling performance that saw MI restricting a rampant CSK to just 131 runs despite losing only four wickets in 2- overs.

The ‘Master Blaster’ has picked up the spinners for a specific praise. Rahul Chahar, in particular, had finished with almost Test match-esque figures of four overs, 14 runs conceded and two wickets taken. Among batters, Tendulkar has praised Suryakumar Yadav who scored an unbeaten 71 and Ishan Kishan for supporting his partner at the other end with 31-ball 28.

“Heartening to see a great bowling performance by the boys, especially the spinners. @surya_14kumar’s innings along with @ishankishan51 was crucial in helping us win the game. 💙 #MIvCSK #OneFamily #MI @mipaltan,” Tendulkar wrote in his message.

Batting first, CSK hadn’t got going till it was entirely too late, with the top four batsmen scoring just 65 runs in 12.1 overs, before Ambati Rayudu (unbeaten 42 off 37 balls) and skipper MS Dhoni (37 not out off 29 balls) added some quick runs on the scoreboard.

However, this isn’t the end of road for Super Kings. Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Eliminator on Wednesday, following which the winner will once again face CSK in the second qualifier.
