IPL 2019 – WATCH: ‘Superman’ Faf du Plessis flies to save a SIX; commentators and fans applaud

Chennai Super Kings star player Faf du Plessis pulled off a stellar save at the boundary against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the second Qualifier of IPL 2019 at Vizag on Friday.

After opting to field first, CSK sat on top of DC for most of the latter’s innings. Tail-enders Amit Mishra and Ishant Sharma smashed a couple of boundaries in the end to balance the early collapse.

In the 19th over, Mishra connected a slot delivery by Deepak Chahar. The clean strike would have gone for a maximum had Faf not intervened. He ran to his right, flew in the air, caught the ball and released it before landing on the other side of the rope. The commentators on air and cricket fans watching the match at the ground applauded Faf’s sensational effort.

CSK restricted DC to 147 for nine.

Faf looked slightly uncomfortable as he had landed on his shoulders, but he recovered in time to pad up for the 148-run chase.

The right-handed opener smashed a 39-ball 50 and guided MS Dhoni-led side to a 6 wicket win over Shreyas Iyer & Co.
