Quinton de Kock took a stunning catch to send back Virat Kohli for 18 in South Africa’s World Cup match against India in Southampton on Wednesday.
During the second innings, on the third ball of the 16th over, Andile Phehlukwayo bowled it just outside Kohli’s off stump as the Indian captain tried to run the ball down to third-man. Extra bounce from the pitch forced an edge of Kohli’s bat as ‘flying’ de Kock plucked the ball out of thin air.

Kohli struggled in his 34-ball stay at the crease and it was the first time in his career that he did not start a World Cup edition with a century. He scored a ton against Bangladesh in India’s opener in 2011 and then repeated the feat against Pakistan in 2015.
The stunning effort from de Kock though didn’t help South Africa to get a win as India chased down South Africa’s total of 227/9 with 6 wickets in hand.
