ICC World Cup 2019: ‘Emotional’ Mohammad Shahzad blames ACB for ruling him out of the tournament

Afghanistan’s explosive opener and wicketkeeper Mohammad Shahzad was sent back home citing the knee injury, ruling him out of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.

But, recently, Shahzad revealed that he is fully fit and has blamed Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) for pulling him out of the 10-nation tournament without even consulting him.

Ibrahim Momand, the senior sports journalist from Kabul, shared the news with fans on Twitter.

“I have no problem or injury. And also, fully fit. But @ACBofficials pulled me out of the squad by force without any consultation”Says @MShahzad077 who is ruled out of @cricketworldcup due to knee injury. He said it in his recent voice clip to a media in #Kabl as he is set to return home tomorrow,” he wrote.

Shahzad took the field in Afghanistan’s first 2 matches of the competition against Australia and Sri Lanka, and on Friday (June 7), it was reported that aggravation of the knee injury has forced the 32-year-old out of the World Cup.
