Global T20 League franchise Toronto Nationals have picked former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh as a marquee player in the draft held on Thursday in Mumbai.
Yuvraj, who was the ‘Man of the Series’ in ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, announced his retirement from international cricket to be available for the franchise-based T20 leagues.

The second season of the Global T20 Canada will be held in Brampton from July 25 to August 11.
“I can play fun cricket. I will go and enjoy cricket. Have fun there. I have had a word with BCCI and I will speak again after announcement. Hopefully it will be a smooth sailing,” Yuvraj had said at his retirement press conference.
On Tuesday, the dashing left-hander had written to the BCCI, seeking permission to ply his trade in the foreign T20 leagues.
“He wrote to the board. I don’t see an issue in him getting the nod to play in overseas leagues now that he has retired from international cricket and the IPL,” a BCCI source had confirmed the development to PTI.
Yuvraj featured in four matches for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2019. He did not score in bulk – 98 runs in total – but his 35-ball 53 against Delhi Capitals had flashes of the ‘genius’ he is.
