Cricketing world hails Rohit Sharma as he scores fourth century in CWC 2019

Continuing with his magnificent form in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Rohit Sharma on Tuesday became the first Indian and second overall batsman to score the fourth hundred in a World Cup.

At Edgbaston, Rohit scored a century against Bangladesh and that was after he had scored a ton against England just two days ago. He had scored centuries against South Africa and Pakistan earlier in the ongoing tournament.

Apart from Rohit, former Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara has also scored four hundreds in a single edition of a World Cup. He did so in the 2015 edition.

Rohit added 180 for the first wicket with KL Rahul and it was the highest first wicket partnership for India at a World Cup. Previous best was 174 between Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma at Hamilton during the 2015 World Cup.

‘Hitman’ was eventually dismissed for 104 by Soumya Sarkar in the 30th over. After this knock, he has 540 runs in the ongoing World Cup.
