Indian opener Rohit Sharma has become the highest run-scorer of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, accumulating 647 runs in 8 innings after he smashed his fourth century (103 off 94) of the tournament in the final league match against Sri Lanka at Headingley on Saturday.
In doing so, he also became the first-ever batsman to smash five centuries in a World Cup. Rohit also levelled the legendary Sachin Tendulkar for the most number of centuries in World Cups – six. In short, the vice-captain of Team India is unstoppable. But it isn’t just the pitches in England and Wales that is bringing the best out of the Indian talisman.
With the thumping 7-wicket victory over Sri Lanka, the Men in Blue also celebrate the birthday of former captain MS Dhoni. The wicketkeeper-batsman tuned 38 on Sunday (July 7).
While fans started pouring in their love for ‘Captain Cool’, India’s vice-captain Rohit also has a very special plan for Mahi.
In a video posted by BCCI, while talking in the post-match press conference, the ‘Hitman’ was asked if he has a message for Dhoni.
Rohit being Rohit, he gave the most hilarious and epic reply. He said, “Birthday mein kya bola jata hai? Happy birthday? Yehi tho bola jata hai. (What do you tell someone on their birthday? Happy birthday only right?)
“Par ha, abhi kal travel day hai humara and pata nahi hum Manchester jaa rahe hai ya Birmingham jaa rahe hai. Tho uss hisab se bus drive mein shayad cake cutting hoga” (We have our travel day tomorrow and we don’t know we are going to Manchester or Birmingham. Accordingly we will cut the cake during the bus drive).
However, what got caps and laughter in the room was Rohit’s concluding line when he told the journalists, “Photo woto bhejenge aapko”. (We will send you the photos)
Is there anyone as candid and funny as @ImRo45? Here's what he had to say when asked about a message for Birthday Boy @msdhoni 😄😁 #TeamIndia #CWC19 #SLvIND pic.twitter.com/aCD23hgKts

This is going to be the third time when MSD will be a part of the semi-finals in ODI World Cups since 2011. Now Team India will be playing their semi-final match against New Zealand at Old Trafford in Manchester on July 9.
