Cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has predicted the probable Indian team for the semifinals of World Cup 2019 and as a surprise, he also picked Ravindra Jadeja in his playing XI, whom he had termed as ‘bits and pieces cricketer’ a few days back.
As Manjrekar tweeted out his probable XI, former England captain Michael Vaughan took a dig at the former for changing his stance on the Indian all-rounder.
Ahead of India’s game against Bangladesh, Manjrekar called Jadeja a ‘bits and pieces cricketer’ and said, personally, he would rather prefer a batsman and a spinner in an ODI match, than someone like Jadeja.
But just a day after Jadeja’s criticism, the Mumbaikar sensationally included him in his predicted eleven for India’s semi-final clash against New Zealand. As Jadeja had a good outing against Sri Lanka with the ball and on the field, Manjrekar did not refrain from naming him in his eleven for the game against the Black Caps.

Responding to Manjrekar’s tweet, Vaughan wrote: “I see you have picked that bits and pieces cricketer!!!”

Clarifying his earlier tweet, Manjrekar said it was a ‘predicted’ XI and not the team he wants India to feature in Manchester. He tweeted, “‘Predicted’ my dear Vaughan…not ‘my’ team.”

Vaughan then sarcastically asked Manjrekar if he is picking “any bits and pieces cricketers” in his India playing XI for the semi-finals. “What’s your team then my dear Sanjay !! Are you picking any bits & pieces cricketers?” Vaughan wrote.
