Team India opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan, whose World Cup 2019 campaign ended due to a thumb injury, picked up the bat for the first time on Thursday.
Dhawan returned to nets after former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh challenged him for the “Bottle Cap Challenge” which is doing rounds on social media these days. Gabbar shared a video on his Twitter handle where he can be seen completing the challenge.
“Yuvi Paaji, here is my #BottleCapChallenge! This is the first time I am picking my bat up after my injury..feels good to be back!” Dhawan wrote alongside the video.

This might not be a hundred, but his reaction was almost like twirling his mustache or spreading his arms in his trademark style, this time sending out a mighty fist pump to express his delight.
Yuvraj too was impressed with Dhawan’s act, and wrote, “Shot eh jatt ji.”

Earlier, Yuvraj had performed the challenge, which involves knocking the bottle off with a roundhouse kick, on July 8 without following the real rules, since it requires only the bottle cap to drop and not the bottle. However, it’s almost impossible for the bottle to stand its ground with the force of a cricket shot.
Yuvi had also challenged his fellow southpaws like Brian Lara and Chris Gayle while asking Sachin Tendulkar to do it with left-hand. It’ll be interesting to see when the cricket superstars share their version.
