Yuvraj Singh walked off the field despite being not out in his first innings since retirement, playing in the opening match of GT20 Canada in Ontario on Thursday.
Toronto Nationals, led by Yuvraj, was put in to bat first by the Vancouver Knights’ skipper Chris Gayle and the former got off to a jittery start. Yuvi came out in the middle at the fall of Calum Macleod but looked completely out of touch with the bat.
He faced 27 balls for his 14 before being given out stumped by the square-leg umpire. Yuvraj got an edge which the wicketkeeper dropped and deflected the ball on to the stumps. The left-hander was still inside his crease as per the replays, but he had already walked off the field before the replays were checked as the square-leg umpire had raised his finger.

Yuvraj announced his international retirement in June when the ICC Cricket World Cup was on in England and Wales. He also asked for permission from the BCCI to participate in the T20 league in Canada, which the board gave with the player having already retired from the game.
