Well, the gossip mills were abuzz that all is not well between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. But eventually, everyone has started believing these rumours ever since Rohit unfollowed both Virat and his wife Anushka on Instagram, even though Kohli is still following him and his wife Ritika.
This is not a good sign as both Rohit and Virat have been key players for India. In the recently concluded World Cup, Rohit notched up 5 hundreds whereas Kohli scored 5 back-to-back half-centuries. So what exactly went wrong?
Here’s what a report in Mumbai Mirror revealed:
“The problem between the two best batsmen started some years ago when Rohit and his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan left the management company that Virat is associated with. At the ICC World Cup 2019, everything appeared hunky-dory until the Indian team’s abrupt exit after the semis.”
Earlier, India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun had given the following explanation:
“It’s not that we agree on everything. We have our arguments and discussions on various aspects like the composition of the team and the strategy. Everyone voices his opinion. But at the end of the day, the other person’s view is respected and a collective decision is taken.”
Team India clearly seems divided but fans will hope that everything gets back to normal as soon as possible. Cricket is a team game and only a united team can uphold the true team spirit.
However, the moment one Sharma – Rohit stopped following another Sharma, that is, Anushka, the Bollywood actress and Virat’s wife didn’t hold herself back from sharing this emotional as well as a thought-provoking message on Instagram (perhaps pointing towards Rohit’s action of unfollowing her husband and her).
