Twitter erupts as India complete 3-0 whitewash over West Indies

After clinching the series in Florida on Sunday, India defeated West Indies by seven wickets in the third and final T20I match at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Tuesday to complete a 3-0 whitewash.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant finally performed well under the guidance of captain Virat Kohli as India secured a comfortable win over the Windies.

Chasing a target of 147 on a slowish track, Kohli anchored the Indian innings to perfection with 59 off 45 balls while Pant was brilliant during his unbeaten 65 off 42 balls. The duo helped India to reach the target in 19.1 overs.

Earlier, Deepak Chahar’s incisive swing bowling was countered by Kieron Pollard’s attacking half-century and Rovman Powell’s cameo as West Indies put up a par score of 146 for 6 on the board.

Brief scores: West Indies 146/6 in 20 overs (Kieran Pollard 58; Deepak Chahar 3-4) lost to India 150/3 in 19.1 overs (Rishabh Pant 65, Virat Kohli 59) by seven wickets.
