Jonty Rhodes, former South Africa international, has penned a heartfelt message for star India batsman Suresh Raina after the latter underwent successful knee surgery in Amsterdam on Friday.
Raina had a niggling knee problem since last season and will require at least six weeks of intense rehabilitation for recovery.
“Mr Suresh Raina went through a surgery for his knee where he is been facing discomfort for last few months. The surgery is been successful and it will require him 4-6 weeks of rehab for recovery,” Raina’s Dutch surgeon Dr. H Van der Hoeven confirmed the latest development.
The BCCI also wished speedy recovery for the batsman while confirming Raina’s knee surgery on their Twitter handle.
Replying to BCCI’s tweet, Rhodes posted a special message for Raina.
He wrote: “@ImRaina u have been an inspiration to so many with your incredible work ethic over your career, especially these last couple of years. Listen to your body now my friend – knowing u, u will want to be out training tomorrow #aramse.”

Raina has played 226 ODIs, 78 T20Is for India amassing 5,615 and 1,605 runs respectively. He also featured in 18 Tests where he scored 768 runs.
He was last seen in action during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 where he clubbed 383 runs in 17 matches for the runner-ups Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
