Stuart Broad produced “one of the best balls he’s ever bowled” to dismiss Travis Head on the opening day of the third Ashes Test at Headingley in Leeds.
It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the 33rd over when Broad beat Head all ends up. With the ball moving away from the batsman after pitching, the slight movement was enough to deceive Head who was aiming to play a drive on the sixth ball that he faced.
With Head’s dismissal, Broad also equalled the great English quick Fred Trueman for the most wickets taken by a single bowler in Test cricket at Headingley (44).
