Besides cricketers, umpires, match referees and other officials also pocket a good amount of fortune. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has ensured that the umpires and match referees get the well-deserved pay for the hard work they put in.
The Indian cricket board recently revealed the earnings of the umpires and match referees in the twelfth season of the IPL. On August 21, the BCCI gave away the details of payments made in July 2019. The press release included information about the salary received by match officials for their service in this year’s IPL. And well, one can only say that the figures were staggering. Each official earned more than Rs 25 Lakh.
Former India fast bowler Javagal Srinath was the highest-paid match-referee, who pocketed a whopping amount of Rs 52,45,128. Nitin Menon also got the same salary as Srinath and was the highest-paid umpire.
