A power-failure at Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka led to complete blackout for a few minutes during a T20 international between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe on Friday.
The incident happened after the 17th over of Zimbabwe’s innings. The delay was not too long but it gave the spectators a chance to pull out their smartphones to provide some light. Nothing but flashlights and advertising boundaries were visible at the ground.

Floodlights were back in a few minutes. The rain-affected game had already lost two overs, but the delay because of the power failure wasn’t too long to cut the overs further.
Zimbabwe went on to score 144-5 in 18 overs thanks to a brilliant innings by Ryan Burl. But it wasn’t enough to win the game for the visitors. Although, they had a reasonable control in the game.
Chasing 145 to win, Bangladesh were six down on 60 in the 10th over. But an impressive inning by teenager Afif Hossain turned the game. He smashed 52 runs off just 26 balls. His innings along with Mosaddek Hossain’s 24-ball 30 won Bangladesh the game by three wickets.
