After the end of fifth and final Ashes Test, Australian and England players came together to share a quiet beer in the dressing rooms at The Oval.
Photos and videos have emerged of the incredible moment as Tim Paine’s side walked into the English dressing room and were welcomed by rival skipper Joe Root and coach Trevor Bayliss.
David Warner was seen sharing a drink with Jonny Bairstow, Chris Woakes with Pat Cummins and Steve Smith with Sam Curran, much in the same way the teams shared the Ashes urn.
The moment was captured by the head of communications for the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Danny Reuben, who said: “This is what it’s all about.
“The cut and thrust of Ashes cricket. Let’s just have a beer and reminisce. Why cricket is the best!”

England won the Oval Test by 135 runs on Sunday, sealing a consolatory 2-2 draw after Australia had already retained the Ashes at Old Trafford.
