Ten minutes. It’s all India needed to pick up the last two Proteas wickets and record a 3-0 victory – their first-ever series sweep over South Africa.
On Tuesday morning, South Africa got all-out for 133, which meant that they still ended up 202 runs short of India’s first-innings total (497/9), after having batted twice. The final margin was also India’s largest Test win over South Africa.
11th straight series win at home for #TeamIndia 🙌🙌

India’s new opener Rohit Sharma was head and shoulders above the rest in the three-match series, with a gulf of nearly 200 runs between him (529 runs) and next best Mayank Agarwal (340 runs). As many as three of India’s batsmen struck double-centuries, with Agarwal making one in the first Test at Visakhapatnam, Kohli in the second Test at Pune, and Rohit in the third Test at Ranchi.
This series win helped India maintain their hundred percent start to the ICC World Test Championship. On the other hand, South Africa are yet to open their account.
Meanwhile, the cricketing world was quick to react to Virat Kohli & Co.’s fantastic win over Faf du Plessis’ side on Twitter.
Outstanding display of cricket by 🇮🇳 to win the series 3-0. Very good to see all batsmen contribute & the wickets getting shared between the pacers & spinners. Dominating start to the World Test Championship.#INDvSA pic.twitter.com/b21h4SHZ8M

This is domination of a different kind…Didn’t lose ten wickets in an innings even once. Only one match went into the fifth day. Three different double centurions. Fast bowlers took 26 to spinners’ 32. Plenty to applaud. Well done, 🇮🇳 #IndvSA

Well played #TeamIndia, @imVkohli & Co. Easily the best Indian team ever in home conditions. Superb array of batsmen and bowlers (particularly in the pace department), hardy and deeply ambitious approach
