David Warner is always a live wire on the field, let it be in the slips or the deep. The Australian southpaw pulled off a brilliant run out to dismiss the Pakistan skipper Babar Azam with a direct hit as the hosts won the second T20I at the Manuka Oval by seven wickets.
Warner’s brilliance to remove Babar
It happened in the 16th over of the first innings, which was bowled by Ashton Agar. On the final delivery, Babar, who was batting in 49, looked to complete his half-century with a quick double. Nonetheless, it was a risky double which turned out to be costly in the end.
Azam flicked the ball towards the wide of deep mid-wicket and called for two straightaway. Warner, who is one of the best fielders on the Australian side, covered the ground and threw the ball at the keeper’s end. It resulted in a direct hit, and the Pakistan talisman was caught short of his crease, and he had to walk back to the dugout at 50 after facing 38 balls.
