Mumbai Indians (MI) is the most successful Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise; they have won four titles so far. The Mumbai outfit is known to have some of the best players in the world who can change the course of the game single-handedly.
With the IPL auction for the 2020 season just around the corner, MI has yet again opted to make some changes in the squad, which can help them free up some funds to buy more players. They have traded Evin Lewis, the left-handed West Indies batsman, to Rajasthan Royals as per reports in My Khel.
Lewis was a part of the MI camp since 2018. The destructive opener was seen as a perfect player at the top of the order to give a strong start to the side, but unfortunately, he failed to deliver consistently. With the arrival of Quinton de Kock in the Mumbai camp, Lewis got limited opportunities in IPL 2019.
MI acquired Dhawal Kulkarni from Rajasthan Royals in exchange for the 27-year-old Lewis.
Rutherford and Boult move to Mumbai Indians
MI have also roped in New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult from the Delhi Capitals (DC). Sherfane Rutherford, who played for Delhi last season, will be turning out for the Mumbai team next time around. The group, led by Rohit Sharma, has also left Mayank Markande, who was a massive sensation for them in 2018.
