David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne both scored a second successive century as Australia punished Pakistan on the opening day of the day-night second Test in Adelaide.
Their unbroken partnership of 294 saw Australia reach 302-1 at stumps with Warner on 166 and Labuschagne on 126.
Australia, who lead the two-match Test series 1-0, crossed 300 despite a rain-affected day in which 17 overs were lost to the weather.
Warner and Labuschagne scored 163 runs in a chastening final session for the tourists.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the Warner and Labuschagne show:
David Warner's timing was excellent all day, but none better than the crisp cover drive to bring up his 150! 👌@mastercardau | #AUSvPAK pic.twitter.com/ZwSe1YoBvO

So impressive how this Australian team have developed this disciplined performance culture, which all comes from their training. Justin Langer has had a huge impact!! #AUSvPAK #Langer

Consecutive Test innings of 150+ for David Warner … rumours of his demise perhaps a little premature 🏏 #AUSvPAK

Top 5 run-getters in Test cricket (2019)
Three surprises. I, 3 and the absence of Kohli.
1. 779* – Marnus Labuschange (AUS)
2. 778 – Steve Smith (AUS)
3. 754- Mayank Agarwal (IND)
4. 746 – Ben Stokes (ENG)
5. 642 – Ajinkya Rahane (IND)— Rajaneesh (@vilakudy) November 29, 2019
Yasir Shah can possibly take Steve Smith’s wicket for the eighth time. But it can’t happen unless Pakistan get past either Warner or Labuschange. So far this has looked unlikely
