Stuart Broad reacts on Tim Paine’s declaration denying David Warner of world record in Test cricket

Australia opener David Warner scored his maiden Test triple century as hosts continued to dominate Pakistan in the ongoing Pink Ball Test at the Adelaide Oval.

Warner, whose previous high score was 253, hit an unbeaten 335 from 418 balls – the second-highest Test score by an Australian and 10th highest overall.

He passed Sir Donald Bradman and Mark Taylor’s mark of 334 before the Aussie skipper Tim Paine declared the first innings on 589/3.

Former opening batsman Matthew Hayden has the highest Test score by an Australian with his 380 not out against Zimbabwe in 2003.

The West Indies great Brian Lara is the current world record holder with his unbeaten 400 against England in 2004.

Veteran England fast bowler Stuart Broad, who dismissed Warner at will during the 2019 Ashes in England, admitted on social media platform Instagram that Warner was in the vicinity of breaking the world record in Test cricket.
