Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has slammed Abdul Razzaq for his comments on India’s front line pacer Jasprit Bumrah.
Recently, Razzaq stirred social media when he called Bumrah a ‘Baby bowler’. Pathan has urged fans not to pay too much attention to such ‘over the top statements’.
The cricketer-turned-commentator did not take any names, but he used #Bumrah, and it was a clear hint that he was responding to Razzaq’s senseless statement.
Pathan in his Twitter post wrote: “Irfan jese bowlers hamari gali gali mein paae jate hay” par jab jab ye galli bowler inke samne khela har baar inki gilliyan nikal ke rakh di. Request to all fans not to pay any heat to those unnecessary over the top statements. Just read and smile.

Razzaq, in his recent interview with Cricket Pakistan, said that he had faced great bowlers like Glenn McGrath and Wasim Akram, so for him, Bumrah is a “baby bowler”.
“I have played against great bowlers like Glenn McGrath and Wasim Akram, so Bumrah is a baby bowler in front of me, and I could have easily dominated and attacked him,” said Razzaq.
When India toured Pakistan in 2006, Irfan Pathan had demolished Pakistan’s top order as he grabbed a hat-trick in the very first over of the third Test. He then became only the second Indian after Harbhajan Singh to take a Test hat-trick.
In the 2007 T20 World Cup final against Pakistan, the Vadodara born left-hander bowled a magnificent spell and took three wickets for 16 in 4 overs. He received the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his tremendous performance.
